Training & Education: Karen has been practicing occupational therapy for over 20 years.   She earned a bachelor of science in Occupational Therapy at the University of North Dakota, and completed her MBA at Troy State University.

Specializations & Certifications: Karen formed Therapy Achievements in 2009 with the goal of providing comprehensive rehabilitation services for people with stroke, brain and spinal cord injury, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease, cancer and lymphatic disorders.  She has completed extensive training and is certified as a  Driving Rehabilitation Specialist, a Neuro NDT Therapist, a Lymphedema Therapist, a Parkinson’s LSVT BIG Therapist, a SaeboFlex Technology Therapist, a VitalStim Therapist,  and a Seating Specialist for Wheelchair fittings.  Her vision is to create a company where patients and staff can thrive and reach their potential.

Training & Education: Cheryl graduated from Colorado State in 1993 with a degree in occupational therapy

Specializations & Certifications: Cheryl has completed substantial training in rehabilitation treatment for individuals with brain and spinal cord injuries, stroke,  Parkinson’s diseaseDiabetes, cancer and lymphatic disorders.  Her credentials include Certified Lymphedema Therapist. Cheryl’s vision is to help patients achieve a fulfilled and satisfied state in life through the use of “purposeful activity or interventions designed to achieve functional outcomes”

Kerri Plankenhorn

Kerri Plankenhorn, Occupational Therapist


Training & Education: Kerri graduated from UAB 1983 with BS in Occupational Therapy.

 Specializations & Certifications:   Kerri has advanced training in orthopedics, geriatrics and dementia. She is a Certified Holistic Lifestyle Coach and is working on certification as Exercise Coach.

Specializations & Certifications:  Katie has worked in in and out patient rehabilitation settings in Huntsville and Chicago.   She enjoys working with people with hand injuries, lymphedema, neurological disorders such as stroke, brain injury, Parkinson’s Disease and Multiple Sclerosis.

Training & Education: Heather has been practicing as an occupational therapy assistant for over five years. She earned her degree from Wallace State Community College.  Previously, she earned a bachelor’s degree in Special Education from Athens State University.

Specializations & Certifications: Heather has experience across the lifespan from pediatrics to geriatrics.  She has completed extensive training in rehabiltaion treatment for individuals with stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, brachial plexus injuries, Multiple Sclerosis, ALS, Parkinson’s disease, cancer and lymphatic disorders. Her credentials includes Certified Lymphedema Therapist. Heather’s goal at Therapy Achievement is to minimize the symptoms and teach her patient’s ways to live a meaningful and purposeful life independently.

Training & Education: Kristen received her Associates Degree in Occupational Therapy from Brown Mackie College. Prior to completing her degree in occupational therapy, she worked as a cosmetologist.

Specializations & Certifications: Kristen has experience working in variety of rehab settings including adult rehab, skilled nursing facilities, mental health and pediatrics.  She enjoys the diversity of patients and the wide range of diagnosis they have at Therapy Achievements.  She particularly likes the personalized attention she is able to give them in the Outpatient setting.
