Transportation for Rural Areas of Madison County

6:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Mon – Thurs & 6:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. on Fri. Not on holidays.

Public transportation that is open to the general public. TRAM requires a 24-hour notice to schedule a ride.

Community volunteers provide elderly clients with a means of traveling to scheduled local medical appointments, or to other essential places such as the pharmacy or grocery store. CASA staff members coordinate.

Friends, Inc. volunteers provide support to patients with serious illnesses or disabilities through:

  • Transportation to medical and cancer treatment appointments
  • Running errands–grocery shopping, prescription pick-up, etc.
  • Access to community resources and spiritual support as needed
  • Wheelchair accessible van

Private pay or Medicaid, Workers Comp, & Health Springs insurance covered transportation for non-emergency medical transportation for elderly, disabled or injured. Available for city, county & out of town travel in Alabama.
