Physical Therapy Assistant (Full Time)

Therapy Achievements in Huntsville, AL has an opening for a full-time Physical Therapy Assistant.  We are a therapist-owned private practice and provide outpatient physical, occupational and speech therapy for adults with physical, cognitive or visual dysfunction. We offer a great working environment with a competitive hourly rate and benefits.  

Candidates need to feel comfortable working with patients with a variety of disorders including Stroke, Parkinson’s Disease, Brain Injury, lymphedema and more. Training will be provided for all programs, and you will be part of a team that meets regularly to problem solve how to provide the best care for our patients. 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform customary duties performed by treating therapists including therapy treatment sessions, assisting evaluating therapist with re-evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
  • Provide supervision to interns according to state requirements.
  • Complete required documentation. Enters data, tracks info, and documents correctly and accurately to avoid re-dos and denials.
  • Manage the caseloads for the evaluating therapists you are assigned to: Track patients, compile required patient data, run Caseload Review meetings, give Front Desk list of missing patients to call. 
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings, program planning sessions, caseload reviews, emails, texts and all methods of communication to stay informed and contribute to good teamwork and communication.
  • Keep confidential all communication and records about clients in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as required

Qualifications 

  • Maintain professional licenses and liability insurance required by the position. Licenses include but are not limited to practice specific National and Alabama State Boards.
  • Follow standards of practice and ethical guidelines as indicated by national and state boards.
  • Memberships and associations related to the rehabilitation profession are encouraged but not required.

Work Schedule:

Hours: 8 hour shifts, 8-5:00 or 9-6:00

Location:  Primarily at our Huntsville clinic but candidates must be willing to cover at our Decatur clinic on an as needed basis
