Battle of the Buffalo – A Tradition of Love, Health, and Charity

The Battle of the Buffalo is an annual chicken wing festival and fundraiser hosted by the brothers of Alpha Tau Omega. The event began in 2009 to honor and remember their brother, Paul “Fish” Salmon, who passed away from leukemia in 2006.

What started as a heartfelt tribute has grown into one of Huntsville’s most beloved community events. Last year, thanks to the incredible generosity of local restaurants, sponsors, and attendees, Battle of the Buffalo welcomed more than 10,000 community members, served over 14,000 pounds of chicken wings, and donated $70,000 to the Russel Hill Cancer Foundation and $30,000 to the HudsonAlpha Foundation.

This year, local restaurants and amateur cooks will once again fire up their grills to compete for the title of Best Wings in the Tennessee Valley. A panel of celebrity judges from across the Huntsville and Madison areas will decide the winners, while attendees enjoy an afternoon filled with live music, family-friendly activities, and, of course, plenty of wings!

The men of Alpha Tau Omega, together with the Russel Hill Cancer Foundation and the HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology, invite you to join us in celebrating this ongoing tradition of love, health, and charity.
