The Sandra J. Bryant Bosom Buddies Breast Cancer Support meets on the 4th Tues. of the month, January through October. Anyone touched by Breast Cancer is welcome to join the group for light refreshments, speakers and fellowship.
When: Social time is 5:30 pm and dinner is at 6:00.
Where: Meetings are at Clearview Cancer Institue in Huntsville, AL at the Russell Hill location (3601 CCI Dr NW) - usually in the Community Room on the 2nd floor.

Join us for an evening of creativity, connection, and fun as we gather to paint aprons and enjoy time together. As always, a light meal will be provided. Whether you’ve joined us before or this will be your first time, we’d love for you to come, relax, and enjoy an evening surrounded by friendship and encouragement. August 22, 2026 Ride for Kam Exotic Car Rally
Bosom Buddies has been invited to participate in the Ride for Kam Exotic Car Rally on Saturday, Aug 22, 2026. We want to support and cheer on the riders and drivers! They will depart from CCI at 8:00 AM, travel to Guntersville, and return to Whitt Family Park (the former Joe Davis Stadium) for lunch and a car show.
To cheer them off from CCI – you will need to be there by 9:30 am. After the trip to Guntersville, they will be at Wicks Field at Joe Davis Stadium sometime between 11:30-12:00. There is an exotic car show and vendor tents after the ride that is free to the public and the event is expected to end around 4:00 PM. You do not have to stay the entire time.
Bosom Buddies will have a tent at Joe Davis Stadium and we need some volunteers to help outwith “meet and greet”, handing out goodies, and just having a good time. This will be a great opportunity to get together socialize and introduce our group. If you can volunteer to help any time between 11:30 – 4:00 pm, please contact Debbie 256-509-2209 or Barb 256-683-3916. You may want to bring an extra chair. Even if you can’t volunteer come to the event and say hello.

The topic is body changes, breast cancer and menopause, intimacy, etc. This will be a female only discussion. For June meeting the husbands will be meeting in the Solarium overlooking the lobby on the 2nd floor.
May 26, 2026 Bosom Buddies Breast Cancer Support Meeting
April marked the 40th anniversary of the Bosom Buddy Support Group, and we’ll be celebrating this milestone at our May meeting. For four decades, the Bosom Buddies have been offering support to women diagnosed with cancer. Julie Garrett will bring scrapbooks chronicling the group’s history, started by Sandy Bryant to support women with breast cancer, along with photos from many community events over the years. Please wear pink for this special occasion.
The May meeting will be Tuesday, May 26, in the Community Room on the 2nd floor from 6:00–8:00 pm, with social time at 5:30 and dinner at 6:00.

The March meeting is our annual “Pink Elephant Auction” fund raiser. Come prepared with your auction items! It it is the only place where $10 = $10,000 bidding bucks. The March meeting will be March 24th.

November 4, 2025 Surviving and Thriving Breast Cancer Support Meeting
On Nov. 4, 5:30 to 7:00 pm, at the Huntsville Hospital Classroom (109 Gov. Dr, Classroom 119) there will be another paint party for post-mastectomy drain aprons. Refreshments provided. For more info, or to sign up to help paint, call Tara Eslick at 256-265-7894, by Oct 30th.
October 28, 2025 Bosom Buddies Breast Cancer Support Meeting
This is our annual Pampering Meeting and some of the pampering activities include neck massages, lymph massages from Therapy Achievements, and manicures from students from the Salon and Spa Management study at Drake State Tech College. If you would like to have your nails done, come without polish. The pampering will start at 5:30, so come early. If you have a pink shirt, please wear it to the meeting. We will be taking pictures.

August 2025 Bosom Buddies Breast Cancer Support Meeting
Our August meeting will be different - we are going to attend the Apron Social/Paint Party at the Huntsville Hospital Dowdle Center.
During this gathering, ladies will paint and decorate drain aprons for future mastectomy patients. This initiative began when Linda Crutcher identified the need for such an apron after her own mastectomy in 2009. Following her hospital stay, she and her sister, Mildred Maroni, designed and created aprons to share with other mastectomy patients. Together, they crafted more than 1,000 aprons. Today, volunteers like Cathy, Betty, and Marcia continue this important legacy. We are deeply grateful to the Huntsville Hospital Foundation/The Liz Hurley Fund for their support of this program. July 2025 Bosom Buddies Breast Cancer Support Meeting
Tara Eslick, Breast Health Specialist at the Huntsville Hospital Breast Center will be the guest speaker. A breast health specialist helps patients manage breast cancer and care for a wide range of breast-related conditions. This can include:
- guiding patients through screening options and help evaluate any concerns that could indicate a higher risk for breast cancer
- reviewing personal and family medical history, mammographic breast density, reproductive history, and lifetime hormone exposures
- providing breast cancer risk assessments and create personalized prevention plans tailored to each patient’s unique profile
- suggesting lifestyle factors to reduce risk including engaging in regular cardiovascular exercise, maintaining a healthy body weight, limiting alcohol intake, and emphasizing a whole food, plant-based diet.
Tara is an RN at Huntsville Hospital with extensive experience in clinical and leadership expertise. She has vast involvement with educating and providing grief and emotional support to patients and families and you won't want to miss the opportunity to hear her share.

April 2025 Bosom Buddies Breast Cancer Support Meeting
Thomas Fandre will present on mindful meditation at our April meeting. He will provide techniques on stress reduction techniques and guided meditation that will help us unplug and be more aware of our bodies.
Thomas is a Stress Reduction Specialist and owner of Club Mindful Huntsville. He teaches, coaches and consults about Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) and other wellness practices and tools. He works with cancer patients, nurses, social workers, college students and athletes - anyone who wants to improve their relationship with the inevitable stress, strain and pain of life. He helps people increase their focus, effectiveness and energy reserves with scientifically validated practices.
March 2025 Bosom Buddies Breast Cancer Support Meeting
Our annual “Pink Elephant Auction” will take place Tuesday, March 25. This is our annual fund raiser, so come prepared with your auction item(s) and it is the only place where $10 = $10,000 bidding bucks. You don’t want to miss this meeting – it is so much fun! Be sure to bring items for auction that are gently used or new. If you can’t decide what to do with something, an item you just can’t throw away or have a place for – bring it on! Exchange your real money for auction money to bid on items.
February 2025 Bosom Buddies Breast Cancer Support Meeting
We have two speakers for the February meeting. Gisella Sharp and Alison Drost will be speaking about stress and anxiety. Gisella and Alison are social workers at Clearview Cancer Institute. At CCI, every physician has a social worker assigned to them to assist their patients with non-medical needs. They address issues such as emotional support, financial resource planning, transportation, and prescription assistance. In addition, they provide guidance with advance directives, medical power of attorney, living wills, and community resources.
The February meeting will be Tuesday night, Feb. 25. We will be meeting in the Board Room on the 2nd floor from 6:00 – 8:00pm. Social time is 5:30 pm and dinner is at 6:00.
