May is Stroke Awareness Month
A stroke occurs when blood cannot get to the brain and often damages areas of the brain that control movement. This can result in weakness or paralysis and can make it difficult to use your arm and hand, walk, talk, swallow, or complet activities of daily living such as taking a shower and getting dressed. Although the consequences of stroke can be devastating, comprehensive rehabilitation can help you put the pieces back together again.
