Walk MS brings people together to raise awareness and funds for multiple sclerosis (MS). Across the country, participants of all ages and abilities join in to support those living with MS, helping to fund research, improve access to care, and provide programs that enhance quality of life. Every step taken at Walk MS makes a real difference—empowering people with MS, educating communities, and fueling progress toward better treatments and, ultimately, a cure. Walk MS Huntsville is one way Therapy Achievements raises awareness of this often “invisible” disability.
Walking to Shed Light on the "Invisible Disease"
While some medical conditions have obvious physical signs—something noticeable that others can easily see - MS is different. Although it can cause visible challenges, many of its most disruptive symptoms—fatigue, pain, cognitive fog—are hidden from the outside world. This invisibility can be frustrating for people with MS, especially when others don’t recognize the limitations these symptoms create. There is no “typical” MS symptom. The disease affects each person differently, and symptoms may come and go or improve over time. This unpredictability depends on which nerves are affected at any given moment.
MS is also more common than many people realize. Nearly 1 million people in the U.S. are living with MS, including public figures like Montel Williams, Clay Walker, and Jamie-Lynn Sigler.
Therapy Achievements is Committed to Supporting People with MS:
While there may not be a cure for MS yet, research is advancing rapidly—not only to slow or stop progression, but also to restore lost function.

You don’t have to be able to walk miles to take part in Walk MS. There are many ways to participate—walk, roll in a wheelchair, cheer on participants, volunteer, or help raise funds. Every level of participation makes a difference.
If you decide to walk, a little preparation can help make the experience enjoyable and successful. So put on your thinking cap and find the way that works best for you to be part of this fun and meaningful event.
But Walk MS Huntsville is just one of the ways Therapy Achievements supports people with MS:
-
We host the Rocket City MS Support Group, meeting at 6:00 PM on the 3rd Tuesday of each month.
-
We provide comprehensive outpatient care—including
- Physical therapy for balance, strength, and endurance
- Occupational therapy for daily activities like driving, dressing, and bathing
- Speech therapy to support communication, swallowing, and cognitive skills.

2018 Walk MS Huntsville
We had the best time at the 2018 MS Walk in Huntsville! Thanks to all the Therapy Achievements staff and their families for their hard work and support of this great cause. Last year alone, the MS Society invested nearly $50 million to support more than 380 new and ongoing research projects around the world while providing program services to over one million people. Research is aimed at finding the cause of MS, finding more treatments and, ultimately, ending the disease forever. By working together, we can end MS.
